Bad chocolate? What’s next? Tasty vegetables?

Last week while shopping at Target, they managed to sucker me in with one of the products placed to be impulse buys at the end of the check-out aisles. The item that I picked up was a box of Hershey’s Snacksters – 100 calorie snack packages containing about a handful of cereal puffs, chocolate chip cookies, semi sweet and milk chocolate chips.

I like the idea of 100 calorie snack packages since they keep you from going overboard with snacking, but I wasn’t a fan of the Snacksters for several reasons. While I liked the cereal puffs, which were similar to Cocoa Puffs, the chocolate chip cookies were starchy and dry, like Cookie Crisp gone horribly wrong. As for the chocolate chips, I liked neither the semi sweet nor the milk chocolate chips. There was something a little off tasting about both types – I was expecting them to taste like mini Hershey’s Kisses, but unfortunately they did not. I’ve fallen for the impulse snack buy before, but after my last spur of the moment snack purchase, I think I’ll be more wary.
