Phantom Hourglass? Yes, I would love to play that game, especially since I actually did enjoy Minish Cap.

I also can’t wait to play Twilight Princess, since I lack a system to play it on.

I agree with your list, primarily. Actually, I hadn’t heard of some of them, so I looked them up. After looking them up, I agreed even more.

Smash Bros… diff. development team, right? I hope they get the formula down. The new chars. are exciting!

I wouldn’t call Sunshine an ATROCITY per se… it just wasn’t up to the mario par. For an atrocity, check out the Virtual Boy or Pokemon Snap.

I think it all depends on the player’s taste on what they are looking forward to. Here are mine:

1. Persona 3 (PS2)
2. MGS 4 (PS3)
3. FF 13 (PS3)
4. Hotel Dusk (DS) – came out yesterday
5. Rogue Galaxy (PS2)

Phoenix Wright 2 (DS) would’ve been in there at #2 but it already came out last week and I already got it. 2006 was an awesome year for games, especially for the DS and RPGs on PS2. Here’s to hoping 2007 is an awesome year as well.

I agree with you on GOWII and Spore. The original GOW was absolutely incredible, and the entire idea behind Spore is certainly different and exciting. With the close of Clover Studios though, I guess I don’t have an Okami II (or something simillar) to look forward to (or be giddy about) – so I guess I’ll just have to wait and see what the year brings me.

I definately agree with most of your choices! Aside from the Phantom Hourglass. I am a huge zelda fan and handheld Zelda’s never quite did it for me. Especially after recently beating Twilight Princess, my expectations are high for new Zelda titles.
I am always ready for a new Mario title and Smash Bros will always be a favorite.
Also, being a big fan of the original God of War, GoW II looks to be amazing. Smart move on Sony to put it out for PS2 though. Much like Twilight Princess (which was originally intended for the gamecube then upped for the Wii and released for both) the game needs to be released on a platform that is accessible to ALL. With such a grand title like God of War, they won’t get as much play if they were to release it for PS3, as I know many people that are still waiting to get theirs.
Lastly, your choice that interested me the most was Spore. I had the oppritunity to see it in development when I worked for EA for a short time. The game is amazing, the abilities within it are inredible, and I have literally been waiting for it ever since, I’m glad someone else shares my enthusiasm. When Will Wright spoke at a meeting he described Spore as being the ultimate future of gaming. The amount of choices and twists the user can take/make are almost indefinate. And in a world of increased graphics power, increased physics power, and now the Wii-mote. It’s always amazing to see power used for something new, like massive storyline choices and the likes. A game isn’t always about pretty graphics and I think Spore will give us a greatness in everything.

That is like my list, except replace God of War 2 with Metroid Prime 3 or maybe HL2 Episode 2/Portal/Team Fortress 2. And I’m sure we’ll be hearing about some good stuff to look forward to at GDC.
