Long distance running is a lot of fun, especially if you are training for a marathon. Excitement and nervousness go hand in hand. There is no substitute for training and nutrition. If you have followed the training plan and built stamina and endurance over the course of your training, you will be physically and mentally prepared for the challenge. Prepare for the race day by looking over the course map, driving the course and taking note of the landmarks at different mile markers.
