In the spring and summer, a great sport to try out is river rafting. Whether you do this in an inflateable rubber boat or in a kayak, going down a rapid moving river is much different from taking a paddle boat out over a lake. If you haven’t been rafting before, make sure you are on a class one or class two river, those are suitable for people without much experience. No matter how experienced you are, you will get wet! Although of course you must wear a life jacket whenever you go rafting, if you have properly chosen the river you are not likely to fall in too many times. However, any kind of rapid or even just heavy paddling can cause a lot of water to get into the bottom of your boat, soaking your shoes. You
could wear Velcro Sports Sandals, but if you need to walk around a lot they can chafe. I recommend Salomon Water Shoes. They have a mesh construction, as well as special draining holes so that water will drain out of your shoes, but they are comfortable to walk around in for extended periods. Whether you choose the Tenerife shoes or the Techamphibian Shoes, you will be able to enjoy rafting in comfort both during and after the experience with these shoes!
