Ever since I was a member of the cross country team in high school, Asics shoes have been my choice when it comes to running shoes. Unlike many other brands of sneakers, Asics are very lightweight, which is great for sprints as well as distance running, while still providing the support and cushioning you need to keep your knees and joints in tip top condition.
My current running shoe of choice is the Asics Gel-1140. The Gel-1140 strikes the perfect balance between comfort and functionality with its lightweight midsole, that makes that doesn’t drag your feet down while running, while still offering plenty of support with Asics’ patented GEL technology. The Asics swoosh also comes in a variety of vibrant colors, which makes them fun as well as functional.
For those looking for a shoe that has more of a soccer influence, you might want to check out the Asics Onitsuka Tigers. Sporting a retro, soccer shoe look and a variety of crazy colors, the Asics Tiger brand of shoes really stand out from the crowd. There’s a wide range of shoes to choose from, so if you’re interested in learning more about the Onitsuka Tigers, check out my previous post on Asics Tigers.
If you’d rather be running around on the tennis court than on the track, Asics also offers a great selection of tennis shoes. The Asics Gel Resolution 2 in particular is Asics’ highest rated tennis shoe. Made from durable materials that can stand up to the rigors of a tennis match, these provide great stability, as well as quick bounce-back so that you can execute pin-point turns on the court.
Whether it’s running across a court or running cross country, Asics shoes can give you the extra edge to run faster and longer.
