The beach season is upon us and here is a list of top 10 things that you may want to considering bringing along on your outting.
- Beach towel- A beach towel is a must whether you are using it to dry off after wading in the ocean or using it as a bed to lay on over the sand. They are generally much larger/softer than regular towels. Take a look.
- Sunglasses- If you’re going to the beach, it’s probably a nice sunny day, so bring a nice pair sunglasses that have UV protective lenses to shield your eyes from the harmful sun rays. Prolonged exposure to the sun can cause sunspots in your eyes.
- Beach Umbrella- A nice beach umbrella is always nice to have around on days when the sun-rays are too much to bear.
- Bathing Suit- Board shorts, Speedos, or bikinis are a must if you plan on heading into the water.
- Sun Block-Avoid skin cancer and other skin ailments by protecting yourself with sunblock. Make sure to check the SPF level on the label, the higher the SPF, (Sun Protection Factor) the more UV rays you are blocking.
- Flip Flops- Flip flops are great for the beach because they protect your feet from the hot sand/ rocks and they are easy to clean afterward.
- Boombox- Make your beach trip experience even more relaxing with some tunes. Don’t forget the batteries.
- Body Board – Body boards are great for way to ride some waves if you can’t fit that surfboard into your car.
- Cooler- Toss in some ice and some soda/water/ etc. and your set. Don’t forget the red disposable cups!
- Magazines- A nice stack of your favorite magazines will make your beach trip complete. Nothing more relaxing than laying out in the sun with some good reading material.
I learned this from a SoCal girl. Bring a BED SHEET to the beach to cover the sand. The fibers in the bed sheet are closely knit so that the little sands will not raise through the sheet (like a blanket) and a sheet has no extra fibers (like a terry cloth towel) so the sand shakes right off instead of hiding in the crevices.
