In the hot hot summer it’s more important than ever to keep cool, especially your perishable foods.  As some food items are sold in larger and larger bulk packages, they offer great savings to families, as well as reducing the need to waste gas going to the grocery store.   But at the same time, this requires more food storage space at home, both in the refrigerator and in the freezer.

While many people prefer a refrigerator that comes with a freezer, if you want to store a lot of food, especially for a long time, you need separate refrigerators and freezers.  I recommend a Whirlpool Sidekick.  This is actually two products, a refrigerator and a freezer that can be placed side by side or anywhere you have the room, and each hold 17.7 cubic feet of food.  If you don’t have enough space in your kitchen for both sidekicks, you may even put the freezer in your garage.
