It used to be that kitchen faucets were simple, metallic tubes that water came out of. No longer. With the advent of “modern” kitchen faucets, designers have unleashed their creativity in designing water faucets that defy conventions and expectations. I just did a quick search on Become.com, and here are a couple of innovative modern kitchen faucet designs I came across:
Pretty cool stuff. Some of the faucets have a very clean and contemporary design, with distinct geometric lines and a minimalistic aesthetic, whereas some of the other faucets, like the Hamat Copper Danielle, feature a retro look that hearkens back to times past, but with a few choice modern touches. All of the faucets seem to make liberal use of chrome and stainless steel.
Some of the designs are pretty weird, but it just goes to show some of the innovation that’s taking place in kitchen faucet design, even if not all the experiments pan out. As what was once modern for one generation becomes old for the next, designers will continue to push their imaginations into new directions to define a new style of modern. It will be interesting to see what modern kitchen faucets look like in the future.

You have some excellent ideas for kitchens. That has been one of the recurring themes in my own life–looking for a way to make our bathrooms and our kitchen look really glorious, even though those rooms are much too small. One of the glories of the Internet, though, is that there is absolutely no dearth of ideas. Right now I have no idea of what I will ultimately do, but I keep hoping I will come up with something really slick.
