Pet gates remind me of my grandpa’s house in Ohio where we used to visit during our school holidays. One day my grandpa brought home a brand new Doberman puppy, along with many dog books and a big pet gate! We were so excited and poured over those books to know more about the little puppy. Looking back, I think how thoughtful my grandpa was. Needless to say, in few months my grandpa’s ‘Gladys’ turned out to be a great lady and a loving companion!
Owning an adorable pet comes with lots of responsibilities; it is like taking care of your own baby. Your loving pets will count on you for food, grooming, potty training, warm blankets and other soft materials (to lie or rest), veterinary care and, last but not the least, pet gates for adequate safety.
While finding the perfect pet gate for your loving friend can be time consuming, careful inspection of your house can be helpful to start with. This may help you get clear ideas as where to put the pet gate. For example, if you do not want your pet to enter into your children’s bedrooms, your kitchen or living areas, putting a pet gate to limit the access to these areas can solve your purpose.
Though one pet gate is usually enough for most households as you can easily move it, you may still consider buying an extra pet gate for room having more than one access. You might also consider buying height expanding pet gates so that your loving puppy cannot jump across it, but still have enough room to explore and play when it is not in its crate.
There are two ways to install your pet gate. You can either keep it as a permanent fixture with brackets attached to your door frames or to a wall. Or you can keep the pet gate mobile and have the advantage of using it in various locations in your house or outside, as the need arises.
Finally, your budget is one of the most important factors that will determine what type of pet gate you select. Whatever is your budget, you can get plenty of different options to choose from. While low cost is generally more attractive, you may want to think about the durability, safety and other factors before arriving at your final decision. Think it this way – you are buying it for the most trusted and cutest friend in your life. Do I need to say more?
