Colleges usually set up distributor partnerships with Adobe, Microsoft, Apple and Dell so that students can use their student id to get discounts on widely used programs like Windows XP Home, Office 2007 Student, and CS4 Design Premium.  I checked with my college bookstore and found that the CS4 Design Premium is selling at a 57% discount from the suggested retail price! So check with your college bookstore for prices and let that be your gauge for finding the best price for computer software and hardware.
