If someone asked you to choose an outfit in which you would be most comfortable, what would you choose? I would usually choose a pair of worn out jeans and a t-shirt (the Devon & Jones Blue Ladies Northport Striped Polo is a favorite). However, if I am in a particularly romantic and nostalgic mood, I may pick a long denim skirt with a shirt. That is one outfit which has many wonderful memories attached to it.
I remember in the beginning of our courtship, my husband and I were driving up to a café to meet our friends when his car broke down. It was a sunny, breezy day. On the spur of the moment, A
sh asked me if I would like to go for a walk in the park nearby, instead of going to the café. I agreed and we had the most wonderful time, just the two of us.
Ash told me later, that he found me very alluring in that ensemble. I looked so “fresh, simple and good”. I was not surprised. The cool, flowing dark blue Orvis Vintage Denim Prairie Skirt was comfy and stylish with its set-in waistband that has elastic insets at the sides. This skirt in combination with the Orvis Colorful Buttons Shirt which I wore gives a very soft, feminine look. The ruffled, three quartered rayon shirt has floral-inlay buttons, pin tucks and bands of pick-stitching in different colors down the placket. It is casual, comfortable and gives an air of subdued elegance.
I wore this ensemble on several other occasions, like to campfires, when the need of the hour was casual and comfy. Though the outfit is now quite worn out with use, I still find it difficult to discard it. I’ll probably do so once I buy another pair just like this one!
