Put a Trundle Bed on your Slumber Party Guestlist

pottery-barn-kids-riley-bed-and-trundleWhen I was little, I idolized my older sister, as many younger siblings do, and anxiously jumped at any opportunity in which she actually wanted to play with me. My favorite invitations? Getting to sleep on her trundle bed. I had my own comfortable, functioning bed in my own room, but there was just something about getting to sleep in a makeshift bed next to my sister, staying up late and giggling in the dark. Convenient and practical, any room can benefit from the addition of a trundle bed. If you plan on hosting guests, you might want to do some furniture shopping to treat them to a comfortable stay.

Because they are so functional for sleepovers, many child furniture lines feature classic style beds. One of my favorites is the Pottery Barn Kids Riley Bed and Trundle. It is a simple twin-sized shape that is designed to fit conveniently with other furniture in the collection, and features tasteful paneling on its headboards. It’s available in several wood finishes so it is suitable for any girl or boys room. The pull-out trundle space can also be used as a storage drawer if necessary, which is great for under-the-bed organization.

It can function as a sitting area with its sideboard, and transforms into a double bed when the trundle is used. It is also available in several colors, including a modern black or a classic oak.

If you’re not in the market for an entire new piece of furniture, you might be interested in the Bratt Décor Trundle Bed Frame. It can be stored underneath a suitable bed and pulled out when needed. It is spring loaded and can be lifted off the floor, and features several stability mechanisms to ensure a comfortable rest. It may not have the same streamlined look of a full trundle bed, but it can be used with any bed in your house and can easily be removed if you don’t plan on using it.

Keep your guests off the couch and look into a trundle bed before their next visit. I can assure you they will be quite grateful!
