I absolutely love road trips. When I want to take a weekend vacation, there is nothing better than grabbing a few friends and driving to a destination a few hours away. Normally, you don’t need much more than some snacks and a good soundtrack, but wouldn’t it be great to be able to watch your favorite DVD on the road? I decided to look into Audiovox portable DVD players to bring along on our next trip.

Audiovox has a lot of great options, but I narrowed it down and am deciding between a few different models that are actually sold as kits so they have everything you need to start watching movies on the way home. Along with the player and all the plugs and adapters you’ll need, you will get two sets of headphones, a remote, a carrying case and a mounting kit so you can put it up on back of a headrest for hands-free use and great visibility. The Audiovox D1788 Slim Line Portable DVD Player Kit is the smallest, which is great for portability but also has a smaller screen at just 7 inches. The Audiovox D1988PK is a 9” model, so the screen is bigger but it is a bit heavier and larger to handle as well.

It’s a perfect time to get a new portable DVD player for all of those trips to visit family for the holidays. It also makes a great holiday gift especially for a family with children. Time flies when you’re on the highway in the middle of your favorite movie or favorite television series, so a DVD player should definitely come along on any long road trip.
