From work to a cocktail party
Going from a daytime to a nighttime look can be very tricky. Especially if you don’t have the time to change in between. The trick is to select dresses and accessories which, with a little bit of manipulation here and there, can be worn suitably for both the work place and the cocktail party afterward.
Below are some tips to help your look go from daytime to nighttime with ease:
A fitted blazer is perfect for everyday office wear when paired with a classic black pencil skirt and attractive pumps. But you can also wear the blazer for after-work get-together by pairing it with a smart silk top (instead of a cotton blouse), a knee-length skirt and black cork wedges (sandals).
Similarly, tailored suit is another option that can easily be carried from your office to a formal party. Today corporate casual looks allow women to wear dressy pant suits. While selecting pant suits, select classic colors such as black or chocolate, or subdued colors like beige or cream. Such colors allow you to wear your pant suits effortlessly for both daytime and nighttime wear.
Again, a little black knee-length chiffon dress, a sensible handbag and low-heel black slingbacks are perfect for a day-time professional look. But if you are to dress up for a formal evening cocktail party, how about flaunting an attractive stole, a sleek purse and high-heel shoes in all silver color with your little black chiffon dress? Coming to think of it, stylish black cork wedges (sandals) could be just as appropriate for a gorgeous summer evening as it is for your workplace.
To successfully pull off your daytime to nighttime transformation, all you need is a little bit imagination and the urge to step out in style.
