Makeup trends for 2010

Spring is around the corner, and summer is not too far away! In summer 2010, eyes and lips are going to be bold, bright, daring and contrasting colorful fun. It will be paired with very soft, loose waves, lots of texture or on the contrast, if there’s one beauty look you can try getting this season, it will be pulled back hair away from the face.
“This season it is more like having one single product that stands out,” says M.A.C. cosmetics’s top make-up artist Gordon Espinet. Last season we saw a lot of smokey eyes, well defined lips and constructed looks. “This season it is more like having one single product that stands out,” explains Espinet.
Face: This summer, rosy cheeks are making a comeback by contrasting with natural and fresh skin. Perfect/flawless skin is a major trend for spring and summer. No matter which foundation you use just make sure it’s light and natural. Keep your skin moisturized and hydrated.
Last year we saw bronzed beauties but this year the accents seem to be applied more on a subtle sun-kissed glow. We will be seeing the nude face look.
Eyes: Your eyes should be strongly outlined. You can use black eyeliner as much as you want. Glitter is back girls so get your disco balls out from 80’s (Word of Advise: keep glitter reserved for night outs/evening/ parties).
As this summer eye makeup will be very 80′s inspired you we will see white colors applied on lower eyelid for brightening effect. Extra long lashes are going to be a big trend this summer. Whether you use/try wearing fake lashes, or use a lengthening mascara, just remember darlings, dark, long dramatic lashes will be a hit. We will see purples, oranges, pinks, browns, taupe, turquoise, blacks, even pastels like coral, light green, lilac.
Tip: Blend in some dark eyeshadow under the eyes, on lower lash line to create a smokey, sexy look.
Lips: As I just wrote, spring/summer will be all about dramatic eye, so nude and pastel lips are big for spring.
Forget sparkly or glittery lips just go for nude pinks and beiges, with just a hint of shine. Tinted lip balm/butters are an excellent source for bare looking lips and to keep them moisturized. If you want fuller lips, don’t forger to line your lips.
Hawwt red lips are back ladies, so remember to keep your eye makeup as light and minimal as possible. We also witnessed coral lips in recent fashion weeks, coral pinks are in this spring/summer for trendy ladies out there. Pink lips will be talk of the town no matter pink nudes, coral pink, baby pink nude glosses or bright pink reds.
