The two American cities that gave the world a new definition in urban street style are New York and Los Angeles. Although the cities are located miles apart on either coasts, their urban street style is extremely similar. What originated as just street fashion has  found a special place in places all over American today.

Los Angeles urban street style is driven by hip-hop and rap music. Baggy pants, low waist boot-cut jeans, oversize tees, platinum or gold chains and sneakers are just some standard pieces. As a matter of fact, the whole hip-hop fashion is such a huge rage amongst the young people of Los Angeles that my cousin who studies at a music school there has not is now a head of some small hip hop urban street wear community. How cool!

Stackable rings are a new addition in the accessories arena and the young men and women can’t get enough of the metal on their bodies. My cousin bought himself a Lori Bonn diamond stackable birthstone ring. The rich colored birthstone pops on a sterling silver ring and gives a layered effect. After the purchase, I believe he definitely gained some style points — a hard thing to do amongst all the fashionistas of L.A.

He also bought his girlfriend a pair of Madden Girl punkk slouch boots in black. The boots are perfectly comfy to pair with a laid-back outfit — you can tuck a pair of jeans into these boots, and adjustable buckles makes sure that it fits well. I don’t need to say the wonderful comments his girl received after this purchase.

I’m sure with the popularity of urban street style growing by leaps and bounds, Los Angeles will soon be the fashion destination of the world!!
