Easy gifts for Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is quickly approaching (in case you weren’t aware, it’s this Sunday!), and as is the case with most present-purchasing events, I’m suffering from procrastination, lack of creativity and budget limitations.
If you’re in the same boat as I am, read on for some of my tips for finding your mom a gift for this Sunday.
In lieu of the impersonal gift card route, one easy solution if you’re in a gift-finding rut is to get your mom an updated version of something she uses a lot – that way, you’ll know that she’ll actually appreciate it and put it to use. In my mother’s case, it’s flip-flops – she wears them around the house, when she goes out to take our dog out on walks and if she’s too lazy to find regular flats (which is more often than not). I’m planning on getting her a pair of Havaianas ‘Slim’ flip flops.
Another approach to finding a last minute Mother’s Day gift that doesn’t seem like it’s completely last minute is to buy something that can be used that same day. For example, typical Sunday breakfasts consist of coffee and cold cereal. This week, I can jazz things up by getting a gourmet coffee gift set for my caffeine-guzzling mother and putting it to use that morning (maybe I’ll find the effort to make her a bit of breakfast, too).
If all else fails, there’s nothing wrong with going for the tried-and-true. Pick from one of the following: Flowers or chocolate, a nice brunch, jewelry (check out RubyBag.com for some great deals!) or – at the very least – a card to let your mom know your appreciation.
