Sex and the City 2: in theaters Thursday!

We’ve written plenty about it, but Sex and the City deserves another post because — drumroll please — “Sex and the City 2″ finally hits theaters this Thursday! While reactions to the movie’s trailers have been lukewarm (what are the ladies doing in the Middle East? and Aidan? Aidan??), the movie promises to be a candy store of couture fashion, if nothing else.

In anticipation of the beloved television series-turned movie’s sequel, let’s take a sneak peek into Carrie’s closet. Here are some of the upcoming movie’s standout wardrobe pieces, as well as affordable alternatives so that you can channel your inner Carrie/Charlotte/Samantha/Miranda.

  • Christian Louboutin sparkly gold heels: It’s no secret that Carrie is a fan of sky-high, designer heels, and she struts her stuff in “Sex and the City 2″ in gorgeous, gold Christian Louboutins. If you love her look but don’t have a few hundred dollars to throw down for a pair, try on these very affordable but equally adorable gold heels by Highest Heel.
  • Vivienne Westwood hat: Always thinking ahead, Charlotte sports a summery Vivienne Westwood hat in the Abu Dhabi heat. Cover yourself with the beach hat of your choice to achieve a similar look.
  • Matthew Ames white grecian style dress: As we all know, Samantha is not usually known for her subtlety, but she is the picture of subdued sexuality in a white Matthew Ames dress. Compare it to a David Meister braided one-shoulder dress.
  • Kara Ross mustard clutch: Usually I believe that the color mustard yellow should only apply to food items, but Miranda’s Kara Ross clutch is admittedly lovely. For a similar look, pick up a Nino Bossi mustard clutch.

If you’re planning to see “Sex and the City 2″ this weekend, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the movie in the comments below!
