Taylor Swift: new face of CoverGirl
Country music darling Taylor Swift is extending her influence into the makeup empire. In a brilliant marketing move, cosmetics giant CoverGirl has signed four-time Grammy winner Swift as its newest spokeswoman. This is sure to endear the brand to pre-teens and teenagers, two demographics not easily swayed by other CoverGirl faces like Queen Latifah and Ellen DeGeneres.
Quite appropriately, Swift, known for her fairytale-themed songs like “Love Story” (see below) and “Today Was a Fairytale,” said that her appointment as the new face of CoverGirl was a “dream come true.”
