Summer into fall
Summer is well on its way and you, without a doubt, will go shopping for new fall trends before it ends. Most of us are currently in a state of budgeting, but will allow ourselves a few little splurges here and there. The thing to remember during this time of economic downturn, you do not have to sacrifice effortless style just because you are pinching pennies; when purchasing summer clothes keep in mind important pieces that will transition well into the fall season.
For instance a boyfriend blazer, preferably dark, worn with a pair of shorts or skirt is perfect for a classic weekend ensemble. In fall it can be layered over knits or paired with thick tights and a plain tunic for a sophisticated look.
An economic fashionista relies on key pieces that are versatile, not only that can be worn in many different ways, but through many seasons. For summer into fall, key pieces to include are a pleated skirt, a denim jacket, and a military inspired vest. The pleated skirt could be worn with a plain tank top and heels for a relaxed summer vibe and then be worn with a faux fur shrug for a glam look for fall.
A denim jacket has always been a summer staple, but it has endless possibilities for the fall season. Wear it with cuffed boyfriend skinny jeans and patent pumps, or layered under a cozy over-sized sweater. Speaking of layering, a military vest is perfect for fall layering! Wear it now over a romper or dress for ruggedness come fall and pair it with lace or leather.
Don’t just keep dress basics in mind, think about color palettes too. Nudes and earth tones are great, not only this summer season, but for fall too. When you keep these things in mind you can rest assure guilt-free shopping is on your summer horizon.
