Avoid bed wetting accidents with a waterproof mattress pad


Bed wetting is quite common in younger children and in those who have been recently potty trained. Bed wetting can seem quite frustrating to you and quite embarrassing to your child. This is one problem almost every child will have to face at some point or the other. Almost all 5 year olds go through this phase. Though bed wetting is an annoying and an unhealthy habit, you will have to deal with it very patiently.

Try to be very patient with your baby when you both are facing this challenge of bed wetting. Your child is sad, scared and embarrassed. He needs your support and work together with him in overcoming this habit. While, bed wetting eventually stops, it helps if you provide your baby with help and guidance. It might take some time for your child to get over this habit. But for now, you can always use waterproof mattress pads to avoid the mattress getting soiled. Here are some tips that will help your baby avoid bed wetting accidents.

  • The most important step of all is to first make your baby understand that he has your support. Don’t embarrass him in front of others and be gentle with him.

Your baby may also be scared to get up and walk to the bathroom in the darkness. If that is the case, fix a bed light that remains on through the night so that your child can easily find his way to the bathroom.
