Easy ways to reduce your water consumption

energy efficient water heater, reusable ice

Water is one of the most precious natural resources. Even though it seems abundant enough because 3/4th of the planet is covered with it, most of that water is not suitable for drinking. With global warming heating our planet, drinking water is going to become a very valuable commodity. Wasting water is like abusing our eco system. Did you know that the most amount of water wastage occurs in the United States of America? Americans constitute 5% of the world’s population but they consume 24% of the world’s energy.

The average individual daily consumption of water is 159 gallons. The rest of the world lives on 25 gallons of water on an average. We waste so much water in our everyday lives. When we use the shower or the lawn sprinklers or when we wash our cars… We waste a lot of water every day! It is time to bring this to an end.

There are many ways you can help conserve water.

  1. You can switch to energy efficient water heaters. These heaters have a cut-off point up to which they will heat. Regular heaters tend to overheat the water and consume too much electricity. The water evaporates and more water is wasted. With energy efficient water heaters, you can conserve water!
  2. Try and utilize some of the more innovative products in the market. For instance, reusable ice helps conserve water greatly! You can keep using the same water again and again by just popping the reusable ice into the freezer.

You can do your part to help the planet conserve water. It is the most precious resource and we should cherish it!
