Furnish your toddler’s big-kid bedroom

As your little baby steps into toddler-hood, her sleeping space will have to be transitioned from a little crib in your room to a whole room of her own. Kids love to have their own personal space where they can dream and play. With a little inspiration and very little effort, you can give your darling kid a beautiful space that will be her very own ‘fantasy world’.
Decorating and furnishing your big-kid’s room can be a very memorable experience. Some even say that designing a child’s room is fun as well as very challenging. Comfort, style and practicality – these are the factors that are very important while you go about furnishing and decorating your baby’s room. Safety is the most essential consideration of all. It is important that your baby enjoys her time in her room while being safe and comfortable. Furnishing your kid’s room is all about smart positioning of furniture. The furniture should be chosen depending on your child’s age. Since, your child will have lot more stuff than you do; she will need more storage space too.
A child’s room is her very own personal space that should be decorated with her personality and tastes in mind. The first step to start furnishing your child’s room is to decide on a theme. Pink for girls and blue for boys is now a
passé. Kids today do not restrict their imagination to such narrow choices. Once you have decided on a theme for your child’s room, go about picking pieces of furniture. A cozy and comfortable toddler bed is the top priority of your kid’s bedroom. Try to incorporate some storage in the form of racks and shelves in the headboard for your child to stack her bedtime reading and treasures. You can also have some under-bed storage to put away the board games and video games of your kid.
A bed alone will not provide comfort to your kid. Only good bedding can make this sleeping zone comfortable. Bedding again comes in a variety of
colors, prints, patterns and themes. In most cases, changing the bedding can change the overall look and feel of the kid’s room. When I was furnishing my teenage daughter’s room, I chose for her the ladybug bedding. It works well with my little fairy’s ‘dreamland’ fantasies.
Organizing your kid’s messy room can be a very daunting task. This calls for a lot more storage space than what you would need. Hanging storage can help a
great deal in putting away magazines, stationary and other such small things. A large trunk for storing all the toys is also a great idea. Another great piece of furniture for your toddler’s room is a flip sofa. This little piece of furniture will make your kid feel all grown up. Its unique design lets it convert into a slumber bed where your child can doze off to sleep while reading her favorite story!
