Creating glamorous old Hollywood hair

You love Hollywood stars; you worship them and idolize everything about them. Even their hairstyles! Yes, the glamorous Hollywood hairstyles are still showcased by the hotties of the big screen. Red carpet events always witness some celeb copying the retro-chic look of the 80’s or the curly bangs from the 50’s. One of the biggest changes in hairstyling was introduced in Vintage era.
Brief history
The vintage hairstyle era lasted from 1920’s through the 60’s. The bob’s of the 20’s gave way to the more glamorous curls in pony tails and loose waves. Clara Bows wavy bob styles, Gloria Swanson’s retro bob and the Greta Garbo finger waves are still imitated today. The retro Marilyn Monroe style with short and curly blonde hair was sported by Paris Hilton recently.
Recreating the old Hollywood hair is no rocket science. With a pair of basic tools like the conair travel hot rollers, you can recreate almost a dozen of classic hair-do. After the basic shampooing routine, apply a hair conditioner like Paul Mitchell hair repair treatment. It adds some natural bounce and shine to the hair. Before you use the hot rollers, do apply some styling serum. This will keep the rolls in place for a longer time and prevent any heat damage also.
Roll the hair when semi-wet for easier setting. Leave the roller on, as per instructions on the box. If you have short hair, then take a side parting for that Marilyn Monroe look. For longer hair, you can try the ponytail up-do, with a slight puff. Decorate the top with a bow. The Bouffant and the Beehive styles of the 60’s gave to simplistic hairstyles like beach waves. Just loosen the curls lightly with your fingers for getting the look.
