Small tables make a big difference
Unlike coffee and end tables which should match the rest of the furniture, a sofa table can be completely different and stand out from the rest of the furniture. Depending on its design and where it’s placed, a sofa table adds to the décor of a room with its stylish and slender legs. While side tables look good placed in a nook or beside the sofa, a sofa table doesn’t need to be beside the sofa. You can place it behind the sofa or opposite the sofa.
A slim sofa console table placed at the entryway into the living room can be used to hold your mail, newspaper, or keys when you’re entering the house. I use my sofa table to keep a lamp and some glossy magazines that add character to the living room.
Sofa tables come in a rich variety and in many materials, like black or white oak, glass, wrought iron and many others. You can take your pick from sofa tables with shelves or drawers for storage, or just plain sofa tables that are more for decoration than storage. Sofa tables with shelves are great for your favorite books or other decorative pieces.
Placed in a bedroom in lieu of night tables or in conjunction with them, a sofa table at the bottom of your bed is a great look. It also gives you a place to put your recent books, magazines and other knick knacks.
