My favorite time of the year is fast approaching and I’m ready! But I’ve always noticed that you enjoy winter better when you’re well prepared for it.

I make sure all the beds in my house have a comforter set. With so many different designs and colors out there, it’s difficult to pick just one kind. They are so warm and comfortable that you can easily snuggle in bed with a good book on a wintry day. Comforters come in different types of filling and I generally pick down comforter sets, which are perfect for my bedroom.

The other option is an electric blanket that is excellent for those really cold winters. For the daybed in my guest room, I have two daybed comforter sets that my guests can choose from. I prefer fleece blankets for light winters or when I have the space heater on. I find they are the best when I want to curl up on the living room couch to watch TV. I’m fussy so I like to have different blankets to choose from, depending on how cold it is.

Though a real wood fire is a comforting way to get warm, it’s quite a lot of work to maintain a fireplace. That’s why I settle for a wood stove fireplace as they provide the same warmth. They are efficient free-standing fireplaces that can be shifted to any part of the house, even outdoors.

With so many options, it’s easy to stay warm this winter.
