I have finished of my preparations for Mother’s Day. My gifts are packed and I have booked a luxurious spa for me and my mom! For those of you who’ve forgotten, Mother’s Day is celebrated on the 2nd Sunday of May, with is May 8th this year.

Mother’s Day is totally a girl’s day out for both of us! We forget about diets and eat sinful desserts, shop and talk for hours! My mom is a fashionista and I am proud that my fashion instincts come from her. So, we both make sure that we are dressed to suit the occasion.

Based on what your Mother’s Day plans are, here are a few tips on what to wear:

1. Brunch at a fancy restaurant

For brunch I prefer wearing something a little more dressed up but still comfortable. A chiffon Adrianna Papell tiered dress in pastel shade is perfect for a hot, summer afternoon. It’s appropriate for a fancy venue and yet versatile enough for shopping the Mother’s Day sales later on in the day!

2. Spa day

When we head to the spa, I opt for capris or velour tracksuits because you can slip in and out of them so conveniently. And after you are done with all that pampering, you really don’t have to bother with going home and changing again!

3. Picnics

There are times when the entire family joins in for the celebrations (including my pets). Cool khaki shorts and a linen blouse is the best way to beat the summer heat. For a stylish finish, just add a funky belt and a pair of vintage sunglasses.
