Blog review: Peggy’s Pet Place
Why did you start Peggy’s Pet Place?
I’ve always shared my home with dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, goldfish, turtles, you name it, so I started Peggy’s Pet Place to connect with other pet lovers. I also love finding interesting and helpful pet news and sharing it with others.
What’s your favorite thing about blogging?
Meeting other great people who genuinely care about animals.
What’s your favorite part about pets? Why is it your favorite?
My favorite part about pets is that they are always happy to see you. When I come home, my spaniel Kelly is waiting by the door, wagging her tail, and pawing at the door to get to me. What a greeting!
What’s your next project going to be?
I will continue writing about pets. I write a web column, Pawsitively Pets. I also write for Guideposts magazine, Chicken Soup for the Soul, and others, and my first book, Dieting with my Dog, is coming out this fall. My second book is out on submission and I’m working on my third book now.
What’s the best advice ever given to you (with regard to pet owning, blogging, or anything else)?
“The key to happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.”
What are/were your favorite and least trends in pet ownership?
I’m glad there is increased awareness about adopting pets. There are so many homeless cats and dogs in shelters and rescue homes, and we need to give them a chance and give them wonderful forever homes.
