What toys to bring to the pool
It’s almost summertime, and that means everyone is going down to the local pool or beach to have some fun. I’ve been on a beach fix recently, so you can tell what I’m thinking about pretty much all the time at work. Anyhow, for those of you who are going to brave the local pool, what things should you bring besides the basics? Finding some sweet pool toys makes every trip more enjoyable.
Pool noodles are the best pool toy, in my opinion. They pretty much embody the spirit of fun in the pool. There’s always the boring old way of using them as a floatation device, but they also double as an excellent bludgeoning device. If you spy anyone else with a pool noodle, no doubt they’ll want to “cross swords” so to speak. By this, I mean hit each other with pool noodles. If you thought otherwise, get your mind out of the gutter.
Staying in the water is fun and all, but sometimes you want to get some sun. Having an inflatable lounge lets you relax on the water while not being in the water. Also, if you can’t float for some reason, having one of these gives you a bit of a lifeline. I’d recommend floaties though, although learning basic floating is probably something you should learn. If you forget to bring one, try to steal one from someone that’s laying back on one. I’m pretty sure once it is in the pool, it’s fair game.
