Best of the Web: Be @ Home #27

This week’s Best of the Web: Be @ Home happens to be up exactly in mid June. With summer in full bloom, we get to learn more about gardening and landscaping techniques from one of our featured bloggers. We have also featured people with a passion for paper craft and mail art, perfect for a DIY Father’s Day’s gift. Finally, enjoy a blogger’s love for anything creative and motivational. Read on for our Best of the Web picks!
The Recreating Eden Landscape Blog reflects blogger Sandra’s passion for gardening and her profession as a landscape designer. She shares with us beautiful gardens and plants, and tips on what works and what does not.

Art from the heart, explains its creator Emily, “is mostly about paper crafting, showcasing the cards I make for myself, client orders, contest entries and/or publications, as well as those gifted to me by talented friends in the industry. My cards are one-of-a-kind and rarely duplicated. I also design for several craft companies in which I showcase their product on a regular basis. I like to make my blog as informative as possible, detailing all the supplies and techniques used to achieve the final outcome.”
Andrea started found-art blog several years ago, primarily as a cross between mail art (the envelope is the work of art, the postal service is the audience and the recipient is the “gallery owner”) and trash art (the green recycling method of using leftovers; found train/bus tickets, movie ticket stubs, etc as part of the creative process). She wants to show us that art can be (almost!) free to make and also free to the audience/collector. She’s used wrapping paper found in recycling bins with watercolor or acrylic paint, rubber stamps, embossing powder, lino prints, ink pens, ribbons, used postage stamps and any other piece of prettiness to create – amongst other things – tags, postcards, greeting cards and positive affirmations.

At Define1lady, Marivic shares her passion for all things artistic and motivational. She describes, “My blog is place where I enjoy beautiful elements that captivate me. I treasure anything I find inspirational and creative on my blog. From art, interior design and fashion, to illustrations from my shop and simply life, I hope it will inspire and motivate others.”
