Best of the Web: Be @ Home #29
This week’s Best of the Web: Be @ Home is full of bloggers who share a passion for cross-stitching, sewing, quilting and playing with different fabrics. These bloggers provide an illustration of our heritage through the beautiful fabrics that are pieced together. And if you aren’t much for fabric and thread, we also have a clay artist, a bargain shopper, an interior decorator, a vintage sign designer and a homemaker who shares her passion for things she enjoys.

Get introduced to cross-stitch with this blog: Lady Kell of the blog KincavelKrosses is an avid cross stitcher and found that her love of slightly subversive designs led to her designing for herself and others. Out of this passion was born Kincavel Krosses, a place where cross stitch and black work are usually intertwined with a wicked sense of humor. Many of her designs are available for free download.

Audrie started her blog Blue is bleu as a place where she shares her interest about quilting, baking, fashion and photography.

Kathy McGee says that she started her blog ‘My Interior Life’, “as a way to contribute to the conversation and share my passion for design with others.” She finds it very exciting to connect with other people who are just as crazy about design as she is. With her special talent for finding hidden gems, she started blogging as a way to share her treasures and obsessions with others. She attempts to decorate her home with exemplary style on a budget

With her blog Sam Finds, Josiet shares her shopping finds, writes about health and fitness, and blogs her dream vacation destinations.

With pictures of gardening, excerpts from poems and anecdotes of domestic life, The Country Blossom is a way for blogger Katy to reach out to other women. ” I love to be an encourager to wives and mothers,” says Katy, “wanting them to see that more doesn’t always equal better. I want people to see my blog as a place of gentleness and quiet rest. A simple area to find a bit of comfort in this busy journey called life.”

Katia of the blog Plushka’s craft treasures handmade crafts and is passionate about cross-stitching, sewing, crocheting and crafting. She describes Plushka’s craft as a creative entry of her life, projects and inspirations.

L + J Blog, says blogger Lauren, “documents the experience that my mom and I have had together as we’ve entered into the fabric scene. Successes that we have had, blunders that we have learned from, and then other fun/crafty stories that have come up throughout the last few years. ”

Linda’s blog Linsart Creations in Clay reflects her love for creating and thinking of fresh designs as a clay artist. Her work includes wall plaques, ready to wear pendants, art doll faces, face beads and holiday items.

On Castle and Cottage Signs, you will find delightful vintage signs, all hand painted with chippy cracked and worn finishes. On her site, you can browse her gallery and shop for vintage wedding, garden, chic cottage and wonderful French signs.

Wei Siew Leong is a knitter, writer and photographer living in New Zealand. She started her blog Kiwiyarns Knits to give her an outlet to rave about knitting, share the beauty of New Zealand and its knitting yarns and encourage more to take up this amazingly fulfilling art.

Veronica’s Stitching Vault functions as an online journal to document blogger Veronica’s cross-stitch progress. “Needlework has always been my way of expression,” confesses this cross-stitch lover. “Looking back, I realized that I have come a long way in terms of techniques yet there are still so much more I could learn. With this realization, I try to challenge myself to step out of my comfort zone and try different styles of needlework at the same time incorporating that with cross-stitch.”

The blog Milk and Honey quilts shares photos and information about crafter Miri’s quilting activities. Now she shares much more including free quilt and stitchery patterns, tutorials, and even a weekly book review of vintage books available free online.

You left out the main focus of my blog, though, which I was dissapointed to see…my Christian faith. But I still appreciate you featuring me. Quite an honor. Thank-you
