Best of the Web no. 24

As usual, this week’s Best of the Web aims to suggest a variety of excellent websites: we cover everything from domesticity to baby showers to animal shenanigans!

1. Talking-dogs blog

Blog creator Sue tells us:

Talking-dogs blog was inspired by my love for dogs and began with Tucker, my black dog doing the talking. I feature adoptable dogs and blog about animal welfare issues to create awareness.  Events, contests, and photos are shared to spread the word.  One of my most popular features is Dog Song Saturday – a song about dogs and video each Saturday.  Plus I shamelessly promote my handmade dog lover jewelry.  I hope my readers gain some awareness and have some fun.

2. Ramshackle Glam

Created by Jordan Reid in March of 2010, Ramshackle Glam offers home decor, style, cooking, and DIY advice for the “experimental urbanite.” It’s been called “the single girls’ survival guide for those who don’t have a clue how to be domestic” by the Daily Beast, and is one of Glamour Magazine’s “favorite blogs.”

3. Brooks Baby Gifts

Celebrating a baby shower? Brooks Baby Gifts has presents and gift baskets galore, offering personalized gifts, diaper wreaths and cakes, keepsakes, crib bedding and sibling gifts.

4. Beauty Equipment Pro

The concept behind Beauty Equipment Pro originated when Sarah Pucci had a talk with a beauty salon owner who told her that the bigger salons were able to get better equipment for better prices. Since then, Sarah began researching the industry and she regularly updates the site with news on how salon owners can save money when buying their beauty salon equipment.
