Nail trend to try, crackle nail polish
Coincidence indeed! I happened to pick up crackle nail polish just last week. I couldn’t wait to try it out. And I must say the effect is funky and trendy. I loved the intricate crackle effect. Definitely a winner. Take a look at some nail crackle polishes you’ll like:
- China Glaze’s crackle nail lacquer creates a deconstructed crackle finish. Try using your favorite polish with it for a look that’s edgy and trendy. Check out fancy ones from the new collection like Lightning Bolt, Black Mesh, Crushed Candy, Cracked Concrete, Fault Line and Broken Hearted. Created with innovative technology, crackle nail polish leaves behind attractive crackles to get your nails noticed.
- You’ve got to look at OPI’s Black Shatter from the Katy Perry collection. The deep asphalt black when applied over dry nail lacquer is a vintage Katy look. The ‘shattered’ crackle nail polish looks glossy and I applied it over white nail color. The effect looked daring and revolutionary and somehow it seemed to me that the crackles looked neat and geometric.
- Do follow instructions when you apply the crackle nail polish so you get the right effect. Apply crackle nail polish, when the base color is absolutely and completely dry. Only then will it “crackle” or “shatter” correctly. It takes a few seconds for the nail polish to crack, so don’t be in a hurry. A thinner application causes finer crackles and a thicker application results in bigger crackles.
Whatever color you choose for your base should be a color that contrasts with your crackle nail polish. Better the contrast, better the crackle effect.
