This week’s Best of the Web: Be @ Home is a celebration of the assortment of activities that crafts offer. Each individual is unique and yet there is aesthetic similarity. Let us embrace and celebrate the rich dimensions of diversity contained within each individual’s creative work with this week’s Best of the Web’s featured bloggers.
Lara describes the blog by stating the following: “A Vintage Touch is a collection of my current paintings. It includes everything from still life paintings to pet portraits. The primary focus of the blog are paintings incorporating a vintage flavor, such as fresh fruit on an old piece of china, a vignette with a rotary phone, or a Westie on top of a vintage striped suitcase. It is combining the old with the new in a flea market style kind of way.”
At Buttons and Bling, Maureen had this to say regarding her blog: “The main purpose of my blog is to connect with other card makers and share our passion for card making. I am inspired by many things, but mostly bright colors, variety of textures and sparkle. I hope that people who visit my blog are inspired to create cards or projects that they love, not just the finished product but the process as well. One of the biggest thrills for me is when I hear a card of mine has touched the heart of the recipient. Card making brings me much joy and personal satisfaction.”

Here is a snippet of Heather’s blog A Little Time: “The inspiration for my blog was my interest in scrapbooking and sharing my scrapbook layouts with family and friends. I started the blog in 2005, since then I’ve since added cards and sometimes other paper projects in addition to the scrapbooking layouts. I also love to take pictures and post the goofy things my kids say. I hope readers enjoy looking at my projects as much as I like looking at their projects. I love to find inspiration on the internet and I hope my blog provides others with inspiration, too.”
Upon describing the blog, Susan states the following to describe Not Quite June Cleaver ; ” The inspiration behind starting the blog was reading other, all sorts of blogs. I love meeting people with new and interesting ideas and especially those that share my lifestyle as a career homemaker. I am all about being at home in my cozy little green house at the end of the dirt road that we call Rose Cottage. My best days are when I don’t leave this place. Blogging and reading blogs is my way of “getting out in the world” some days.”

This is what Cheryl had to share when asked about her blog, “I love how my Bingle Bears blog connects me to so many people around the world. It never ceases to amaze me how I hear from so many different people–everyone from other teddy bear artists to people interested in teddy bears to others who just enjoy hearing about the experiences this bear-maker has while trying to create stuffed critters. Interest in “artist bears” spans the world, but it’s a little slice of heaven that seems relatively unknown to the general public. We have special shows, competitions, and shops that cater just to bear-makers like me who hand make each individual bear with a unique personality. With my blog, I love to let people know what I’m up to in the world of artist bears, the bumps and joys along the road, and how ordinary life fits into it all.”

The Blog Cards by MarionE has been summarized by Marion as: ” I’ve always been creative, and I am passionate about scrapbooking. I love using stamps and paint in my scrapbooks. Making scrap-cards and coloring stamps with pencils and copic markers is a vibrant new dimension of designing scrapbooks. Crafting is like breathing for me and so I have to craft every day. All my cards are displayed at my blog and are for sale.” Get a card or scrapbook albums made on request.
