Best of the Web: Style Blogs of the Week no. 52

Best of the Web: Style Blogs of the WeekThis round’s Best of the Web: Style Blogs of the Week picks share a common theme of connectedness, whether it’s with friends, family or like-minded people in the blogosphere.

One of our chosen blogs is a pair of stylish friends who do daily outfit blogging and another is a mother-daughter duo (it’s clear where the daughter got her style gene from)! We’ve also got a creative blogger on a mission to share her sewing skills to the world, a fabulous fifty who offers lifestyle tips to women her age, and a girl who shares her unique eye for beauty via her blog.

Without further ado, here are our picks for Best of the Web no. 52!

DYNAMIC DUOS

blogging with a buddy is more fun

WhitWatWear at whitwatwear.blogspot.com

“We are two college roommates who giggle too much to take serious photos.  We started WhitWatWear because we wanted to document the evolution of our personal styles.  Our blog is basically a diary that shows how our styles have evolved individually as well as influenced each other.  Even though we both have different tastes, we like to think they are complementary!” – Mallory and Whitney

H&K Style Journey

Heather and Kayla are a mother-daughter duo on a mission: to look stylish on a budget. “We do twice weekly mother/daughter clothing remixes, talk about our thrifting adventures, post our daily outfits, and everyday life in between.  We are regular girls who enjoy fashion, hope to inspire others to dress their best and not break the bank.  We hope you will join us on our fashion journey!”

SHE

“SHE is an inspirational fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog dedicated to illustrating our perspectives on style from the inside out. On SHE we aim to inspire and motivate women by focusing on conscientious fashion and the power of self-esteem. We love everything from runway to red carpet to thrift shops and we make sure that our content offers something for everyone.” – Jenmarie & Casee Marie

PRETTY THINGS

these bloggers create beauty, discover and share loveliness, and are pretty all-around

Over 50 Feeling 40 at over50feeling40.blogspot.com

You don’t have to be a twenty-something to look and feel good, Over 50 Feeling 40 proves. The blog’s founder, Pam Lutrell, left a thriving public relations career in the 80s to focus on home life. At age 47, she began to teach high school journalism and prepare for life at middle age.  Her 50th birthday was a huge wake-up call – Pam made some significant changes in her life and today has added several awards as a teacher, freelance writer, lifestyle blogger, and public speaker to her resume.

She is having the time of her life with her developing fashion and style blog for middle aged women in order to assist them with becoming women of strength, dignity, and joy!

Sally Ann at sallyannk.blogspot.com

Michigan-born and Georgia-based, Sally Ann is a seamstress with serious skills and a penchant for recycled fabrics. Explains Sally, “I starting blogging to share my work and love of sewing with everyone that may come across my site of purchase something from my shop. I believe everyone should know how to operate and use a sewing machine, and any lessons I can give through my blog to inspire someone to learn is all the reward I need!”

A dose of pretty

Favorite things, from chocolate sables to Celine purses and leather shorts are carefully cataloged in a dose of pretty. Blogger Francis manages to bring her diverse interests – “I cover everything from fashion, must-have items, home decor, to ramblings about my life” – into a blog with a clear voice and unified aesthetic.

What’s on right now at a dose of pretty? “Earlier this year I started sharing the 100 items every stylish woman must own from the book The 100 by Nina Garcia,” Frances shares. “I am currently living in South America and my blog helps me stay connected with not only family and friends, but also those friends I have made through the blogging community. Blogging is my creative outlet and it brings a lot of pleasure. I hope you will visit me!”

These blogs are for the perfect woman, whether she’s a daughter or a mother, dresses plus size or petite. What are your blog favorites? Share with us in the comments!

I love Heather & Kayla! They are the coolest mom and daughter team out there! =)

H&K Style Journey gives me the BEST ideas for my own wardrobe. I love it when they take one item of clothing (like a denim vest) and show you 6-8 ways to wear it. Go Heather and Kayla! :)
