Tips on authenticating your Fendi

My list of “wanna have high end designer labels” includes Fendi, one of the veterans in creation of luxury goods. But I am always vigilant about knock-offs and replicas. Trust me, the naked eye is never able to tell the difference between an original Fendi wallet and a fake one.
But a true fashionista should always have an eye for such products, even if you buy them from authentic, trendy boutiques. So, here are a useful few tips on assessing and authenticating your Fendi luxury items-
- Observe the stitching closely. A maker like Fendi doesn’t deviate from a perfect straight. Also, the color of the thread always matches the material. Any loose or missing stitches imply that you are being cheated. After all that is what designer finish is all about!
- The logo is always a give-away for fakes. The logo is engraved intricately into the leather and is never printed on the surface. You should be able to feel the logo imprint with your fingers. The hardware will have the logo engraved. Keep in mind that the Fendi hardware comes with a cover on it, which is removed on purchasing.
- A lot of trendy boutiques sell these with authenticity cards. These are made from leather. Fendi recently also made it mandatory to have hologram stickers encoded in their products. This can be coded via a unique magnifying device.
- There are serial numbers printed on the leather inside the bag or wallet. There are no letters on these imprints, only numbers
So, now that you know how to authenticate an original Fendi, do avoid replicas!
