Fall into fall with equestrian style
Fall is here and that may leave some of us looking for new clothes and looks to keep warm while looking hot in the upcoming cool weather. Don’t fret if you can’t find a look though. Thorough our dear fashionistas in the East, we can find fashion inspiration in their equestrian riding wear. Equestrian wear is surprisingly fashionable and wearable. It also presents a crisp (preppy) look that matches the crisp weather that usually comes with fall.
Here are some fashion pieces you can add to your wardrobe that will give you equestrian style anytime.
A houndstooth blazer jacket is just the right touch of equestrian style; and simply grace and class when paired with pants and boots. If it’s just a bit too cold to wear a blazer, then try a barn jacket (sometimes called a barn coat). The barn coat has the ability to keep you warm while also keeping you in equestrian style.
Look for classic-fitted button-up tops to wear with this style. You can go with classic colors of powder blue or even white; but you can also look for flannel shirts that are in this style. For a change up, go with polo shirts or fitted button-up shirts in preppy colors with mandarin collars.
A classic waist vest in neutral to fall colors or even a collared vest will help complete your look. With that said, make sure that you don’t overdo your look!
Nothing is more fitting in the equestrian look then a good pair of well-fitted dark jeans. If you don’t already have a pair of these in your wardrobe then definitely invest in a pair. And if you only have one pair, then get another. Two is almost always better than one. And if you already have dark jeans, try a pair of fitted khaki jeans.
Last but not least, a pair of knee-high brown boots are the ultimate finishing touch to an equestrian look. Look for boots in dark brown or tan leather. In addition to their length being at your knee, look for boots that are flat and have no heel or barely a heel.
