Now that fall is here what is a hipster to do? Do skinny pants and crochet ponchos still work? I mean, are hipsters supposed to be desperately cold in order to maintain hipster creed when fall comes around? (I sure hope not.) So, if you were like me and wondering what the trends are in hipster fashion for fall and winter, look no further. We have a list of the essentials you’ll need to survive your hipster fall/winter.

Jackets
These three pieces will help you stay warm and be fashionable for these cold months: trench coats, bomber jackets and capes. Look for capes in jewel or neutral colors. With that said, the ultimate hipster color choice for fall/winter is orange.

Chunky sweaters
All you perpetually cold hipsters have no worries, although winter is here, you can stay warm. With a chunky sweater (think shaker sweater)  you’ll be warm and still let everyone know you are hipster through and through, through rain and snow.

Shirts
Look for tops that are flowy in jewel-toned colors. My favorite trend for this fall are tops that have batwing sleeves. There are so many tops with many variations of this sleeve and that’s what makes this trend really fun. See what you can find out there!

Maxi and midi skirts (paired with leggings if you like your legs warm) are the skirt types to go with this fall. If you want bonus fashion points, then find skirts with a reptile or polka-dot print fabric. Extra extra bonus fashion points go to the ladies with asymmetric skirts.

When it comes to pants, reach for those pants that flare, have wide legs, or are drapey.
