If you have little ones running around, carving pumpkins with sharp knives probably doesn’t sound like a great way to get your kids involved in Halloween decorating. Not to worry! There are plenty of fun activities and decorating ideas to get your kids involved without huge messes or anxiety attacks.

One of my favorite ideas for getting kids into Halloween decorating is to give them Halloween window clings. These bring back precious memories of when I babysat for two cute boys. They would have their Power Ranger costumes on, even on Oct. 5 mind you, and these window clings would keep them really busy! They would arrange them on their patio window, and then take them down and put them up again. Window clings are fun and safe way to get the kids involved in a Halloween decorating activity and keep them entertained!

Another one of my go-to Halloween decorating ideas for young kids is to get a few miniature pumpkins. Depending on your patience level you can have the kids paint or use marks to decorate the markers. You could also get some googley-eyes and cotton balls to glue on the pumpkins to make faces. Of course small pieces means choking hazards, so for this activity your help will definitely be needed.

Kids love to help mom and dad out when it comes to decorating, and it also gives them a little self-esteem boost if they see you display their creations. Let yours kids participate in decorating for the Holiday’s this year. It’s a great way to create more fun memories together.
