But before giving your dog this medication you should be sure that you dog is not sick with some other problem. The regular dosage is about 5mg per pound and it is available in tablet, liquid as well as paste form for your convenience. If you are not sure about the dosage then it is always advisable for a veterinarian to give you the accurate dosage.  Although this Pyrantel pamoate is safe for dogs an overdose in rare cases could result in loss of balance, rapid panting, facial swelling, hives, pale gums diarrhea or shock as side temporary side effects.
