Add some grunge to your urban style
Often times men will equate the word suave with a certain clean cut look, equating it with a sort of Frank Sinatra or James Bond vibe. Suave is not so much a style though as it is an attitude – sure it’s always important to wear clothing that fits your body and is congruent with your personality, but being suave is much more about the way you feel and project than the clothes you wear. Something we love to advocate here at Be in Style is switching up your clothing and experimenting. To that end here are a couple of great and unusual choices you should consider.
A military field jacket is an often overlooked and misunderstood wardrobe staple. Many men don’t even consider owning a field jacket, opting for more common choices like leather jackets and sport coats. A field jacket though is a great casual item, and it’s extremely versatile as well. Think of them as being somewhere in between a coat and a zip hoodie – they’re comfortable, warm and stylish all at the same time, and they look great as part of a dressed down look with jeans and sneakers. For a more sporty yet still casual option, consider wearing a rasta jacket - these are a great way to show off a bit of color and communicate certain musical tastes without have to co-opt your entire appearance.
Ok this isn’t really a clothing choice, but its definitely something you should consider in your appearance. Studies have shown that many women prefer a man with light stubble over a completely clean shaven face, and the great thing about this look is that it can be pulled off by anyone, in any outfit. Stubble looks fantastic in a racer jacket and perhaps even better in a tuxedo. It suggests rugged manhood without being dirty or shaggy. Give it a shot!
