Stylish hats for the winter
A hat is a great way to accentuate an outfit and give it that extra bit of style. It’s also a good way to cover up that impending hair loss, as is sadly the case with me. Either way, you can definitely look good wearing one. Here are some of the top hats in style this winter.
Fedora Dress Hat: Fedoras are a throwback to a popular style in the early to mid 1900′s. Humphery Bogart was so well known for his fedora that one was named after him. Fictional characters such as Indiana Jones and Dick Tracy have also popularized the style.
Bowler Hat: The bowler, or derby, is another throwback style that as recently been resurrected. Most people probably associate the bowler with silent film icon Charlie Chaplin, although the hat predates his films by over 50 years. It originated in London in the 1850′s and was the most popular hat in the American west, as opposed to the cowboy hat. Chaplin’s 30′s outfit bowler hat is the style that is still popular today.
Knit Cap: A knit cap, or beanie, is not just for skiers and skaters anymore. U2 guitarist The Edge, actor Colin Ferrell, musician Danial Powter, and the characters from ‘South Park’ have popularized the look in the last few years. In addition to being stylish, it also will keep you the warmest during the cold winter months ahead.
Baseball Cap: If all else fails, a baseball cap can still be your go-to head wear. In addition to an nearly unlimited amount of colors and styles, it is also very laid back and informal.
