iHome speaker iPod docks make great holiday gifts
With the holidays right around the corner, it’s time to get some gift shopping done before things get crazy. If you have someone in your life that recently received an iPod or iPhone, an iHome speaker iPod dock will make a great gift. Let’s take a look a couple different versions.
If you’re looking for a good iHome alarm clock and speaker system, the iHome iA63 is a great choice. It is shielded, which is great for iPhone users as shielding prevents GSM interference from making its speakers buzz when you get a call. It is also motorized and can turn itself from portrait to landscape for easy movie watching. It is great if you have an alarm clock app on your phone as well. It also receives FM radio stations but not AM, unfortunately. Sound is decent but don’t expect this compact iPod dock to produce deep bass. It’s affordable at well under $100.
If you’re just looking for an iHome speaker system that can fill a room, the iHome iP1 is a good choice. It is purely a speaker system and doesn’t feature any clock or radio features but it is fully shielded for iPhone use. It features two big, ported woofers with two tweeters that are held in place by a transparent sheet of plastic for a striking look. It looks very modern and beautiful. While the system will get loud and produces great bass, don’t expect good results from playing jazz or classical music from this speaker. It is definitely geared towards bass and beat heavy music.
Both of these would make great gifts for those in your life with an iPod or iPhone. If they don’t have either, get them an entry level 8GB iPod Touch so they can enjoy apps, games, and an excellent music player!
