Simple gift ideas for kids
We’ve all seen the scenario where a child gets a $300 playset for Christmas….and ends up playing in the box the playset came in. That’s the great thing about little kids, they don’t care about the price tag, only about having fun. With that said, here are some simple and easy gift ideas that will keep the kids happy and save you a few bucks in the process.
Hand Puppet Sets: A hand puppet set not only keeps your children occupied, but fuels their imagination as they put on their own world of make-believe!
Dolls: If you have girls, then dolls are a must. Classic toys such as Barbie and Cabbage Patch Babies are still popular today.
Action Figures: If you have boys, then everything from G.I. Joe and Transformers to Batman and WWE wrestlers will let them focus all their energy on something fun.
Legos: Admittedly, Legos have become increasingly complex since I was a kid, to the point that I’m not sure I could put some of their sets together as a college educated adult. But they still have age-appropriate sets that will help build your child’s cognitive abilities.
Play-Doh: Another classic, Play-Doh also taps into your child’s creative side as they are free to make anything they can think of.
Anything Outdoors: With video games running wild, it’s difficult to get today’s kids to play outside. Get them a little nudge with some outdoor toys. Footballs, that that baseball game with the velcro mitt, a sled if you live in the snow, or a frisbee if you live in the sun are just a few ideas!
