Mixed Bag Designs specializes in trendy bags, cases and covers that have unique patterns and vibrant colors. One of the recent on-going hot topics is that many cities in the U.S. are already charging for plastic bags when you checkout at department and grocery stores. This means a new trend is quickly emerging: reusable tote bags.

Mixed Bag Designs sent us a few items to review including a department store bag and a grocery store bag. Because people are going to be investing in reusable shopper bags more and more, I really think Mixed Bag Designs is on to something here. They have created practical bags with trendy designs that basically make reusable bags an accessory.

Mixed Bag Designs’ English Stripe Insulated Grocery Store Bag is bright and bold with stripes in green, pink, orange and blue. The grocery bag has a Velcro closure to keep the groceries secure and insulated. I really like this bag because it is durable and does something that plastic disposable bags cannot: keep your ice cream from melting!

The English Department Store Bag has the same cheerful design without the insulation, making it lightweight and practical for trips to the mall. For only $12 each, these bags are definitely a great investment. The Swirl Foodies Bag from Mixed Bag Designs is another great idea meant to replace the wasteful use of plastic baggies when packing to-go lunches and snacks. They have a fold-over seal with Velcro.

Not only does Mixed Bag Designs make reusable shopping bags, but they also make iPhone covers and laptop cases. They sent us an iPhone 4 cover and a Neoprene 15-inch laptop case to review. Both have a thick black and gray striped design. It’s a basic and sophisticated design, but looks much better than the classic black laptop case and phone cover. The phone cover is soft and a flexible plastic. The laptop case is thick and protects laptops well. You can also wipe it clean with a damp cloth if it gets dusty.
