Recommendation for first time hikers

Last week, I went hiking for the first time and did not prepare for it. I thought it would be just like walking anywhere, with the difference of altitude. However, the fate I met made me realize that hiking is not just about walking on a high terrain. It involves planning and organization. Here are my lessons to share from my experience:
- Always check the weather, terrain, altitude and surroundings where you will be hiking.
- You need more insect protection in a hotter climate.
- Clothing plays a very important part in a successful hike. You need to be comfortable as you hike. If you are getting wet, hot, cold or are not at ease, you will not be able to enjoy your hike. For example, haband snap front shirts are very convenient when it comes to on and off, nothing is quicker than the easy snap closures that look like buttons.
- Carry your phone with you all the time.
- You must be extra careful about your feet. Wear the right gear for feet, for example danner military hiking boots. These boots are light where it needed to be but heavy-duty where it counts. This boot is perfect for mountainous environments where uneven surface and rocks abound. The sole provides superior traction across a range of uneven terrains. The boots are both waterproof and breathe able. The tough full grain leather protects against abrasions and tears and a full perimeter rubber rand adds an additional layer of protection.
- A backpack with the following items:
—-warm jacket (fleece)
—-bottle of water (32oz at least)
—-food (energy bars, whatever else you need)
—-number of small things (extra socks, hat, flashlight, camera, small towel, etc.)
—-Best if backpack has extra space after everything have been packet inside
—-Carry a backpack with the following items in it:- rain jacket (better breathable)
You need to modify your gear as required, based on the weather report on the day of the hike.
