Hello out the fashion world! We’re here in mid April, and that means we’re right in the middle of this wonderful season called Spring. Of course the Spring time means that soon we’ll really be saying farewell to rainy weather and cold, cloudy days. Spring means that before too long, we’ll be within the warm embrace of a loving and sunny summer, and that means swim season! We’re all very excited and looking forward to some quality fun in the sun. This blog is going to be taking a look at some of the coming trends in swimwear this year, so don’t get left behind!

Enter the Tankini

The Gottex tankini is a trending look that we’re absolutely falling in love with this year. The concept of the tankini is exactly what it sounds like – a hybridized vision that turns the venerable tank top into a piece of swim wear. We especially love this idea because the tank top is basically an American summer wear staple – incorporating it into a bathing suit seems like a no-brainer. Another interesting aspect of the tankini from a design and societal standpoint is that it’s certainly a more conservative vision of the swim suit than a full on bikini. Of course this is offset by the bikini bottoms that are paired with the tankini top – a great and original look!

The Ruched Swimsuit

The ruched swimsuit is another great look that we’re loving this season. A ruched swimsuit can be either a one piece or a bikini, and is actually a great way to complement the tankini mentioned above. The ruching itself is essentially a section scrunched cloth. This style is typically more common in high end dresses, so naturally we’re huge fans of the non-traditional way that it’s being incorporated into a swimsuit.
