The benefits of choosing organic cotton fabric
During the humid and warm summer months, nothing but 100% cotton works for me. Be it my clothes, bed sheets or even towels. And these days, I prefer using products made with organic cotton fabrics, instead of regular commercial ones. There have been so many instances in the past when I had allergies and rashes due to fabrics with synthetic blends and use of toxic dyes.
So, I have decided to play it safe for my skin by using fabrics made from organic cotton, which are skin and environment friendly too. Apart from this, here are a few other reasons why I make this green choice-
- Organically grown cotton is a healthier alternative for the environment and us too. It is more durable since it is less processed. Most of them are machine washable too and very easy to maintain.
- The cotton fabric is more absorbent as compared to commercially produced pieces. Outfits made from this material are a sensible pick for the warmer seasons as it lets the skin breathe.
- All organically grown cotton fabrics are free from toxic chemicals. For instance, I bought this organic cotton yarn Jacquard towel that is light and fluffy. No harmful dyes have been used in its manufacturing, so I don’t have to worry about my skin being in direct contact with toxic chemicals. It also means I am making a contribution towards conserving the environment and reducing carbon footprint.
- Available in trendy and functional designs, these fabrics are used to make almost anything ranging from clothes to table napkins.
This spring/ summer, make the green choice by going for organic cotton fabrics that are safe for your skin and the environment too. And the best part is that all of this comes for the same price, if not lower, like your regular commercial towels, sheets, garments, etc.
