How to throw a house party
Having a roof over your head and all that is very nice, but I think you will agree with me when I say that the best thing about having a home is being able to throw house parties. I’m not talking about the crazy Project X type of house parties, but something with a bunch of people nonetheless and just as much [safe] fun.
If you are wondering how to arrange a fun little gathering such as this at your home, look no further than this little guide below.
If you want people to spend a few hours at your home, you have to give them something to eat. You can cater, barbecue, or do something similar with snacks and finger foods. Who doesn’t like chicken bites, mozzarella sticks, and egg rolls?
Put a galvanized tub for drinks in the backyard and fill it up with ice and a few different kinds of beer. It’s not a bad idea to have some sodas and bottled water in there as well. If you are going to have people hanging out inside the house too, set up some on ice beer bins in the kitchen to make refreshments more accessible.
Good music is a key ingredient to any house party. You can plug your iPod into the dock and let your sound system blow your guests away, or you can hire a DJ to set up in the backyard and bring the house down.
While food, drinks, and beats, are the most important things you need to throw a house party (in addition to a house, of course), you can help yourself out by clearing furniture out of the way to create open space for people to come and go. And to get beer.
There is no time like summer to throw a party – so have at it!
