Stylish alternatives to your go-to summer pieces
Summer is one of those seasons where it’s easy to fall into a monotonous style rut. The rut usually serves a purpose – to keep you comfortable during unbearably hot days – but it also occurs at the expense of your style. It’s easy to slip into the habit of turning a cotton tank, shorts and flip flops into your uniform, but it’s just not fun when this becomes a daily routine. If you want to keep cool this summer but still have fun switching up your look throughout the week, try swapping out your go-to pieces for either of the following:
Instead of shorts or jeans: stretch gaucho capris
If you’re getting tired of wearing jeans or shorts every day, try switching it up by throwing on some stretch gaucho capris instead. If you’re accustomed to shorts, you don’t have to worry about beating the heat with capris. The breezy, relaxed fit of gaucho capris should compensate for their longer length and keep you just as cool. For an ultra comfortable style you might even be tempted to sleep in, try wearing jersey gaucho capris in black. Since gaucho capris have a looser fit, you’ll want to add balance to your outfit by pairing them with a fitted top. Tie the look together by adding your favorite pair of flat or leg-lengthening wedge sandals!
Instead of cotton tanks: gauze tops
Cotton tanks are a staple for the summer because they’re comfy and keep you cool, but they can also get dull when you wear them on repeat. If you feel like switching it up, try wearing gauze tops instead, such as a scoop-neck linen gauze top in a solid color of your choice. These are lightweight, sheer and airy, and are perfect for layering with lacy camis in a contrasting color. For a bolder look, try pairing a gauze peasant top with a wide belt.
What would you wear with stretch gaucho capris or gauze tops?
